| The Lower Kahuterawa is Grade 2-3 and runs along Kahuterawa Road. It needs heavy rain. Watch out for fences, all could be ducked under when we were there.
Put-in: Kahuterawa road leaves SH57 just north of Linton. Put in at the car-park at the end.
Take out: Kahuterawa stream bridge on SH57 just north of Linton, near the petrol station, or alongside Kahuterawa road for a shorter run.
Gauge: Horizons (0508 4 FLOOD) Kahuterawa gauge or rainfall at Scott's Road. Somewhere around 8 cumecs is the minimum you'd want. 20mm of rain minimum at Scott's road brings it up. |
