| Tom biked around Taranaki. It's a cool volcano! I went around the Opunake road, Wiremu Road, then Carrington Road and down to New Plymouth. The next day I rode up the Waitara river valley (very undulating and much harder than the first day!). All the roads were tarmac and fine on a road bike. Mostly quiet, except a few km on SH3--not recommended. |
