  South Island Gallery / Whitewater / 2013-06 Bowyer's stream

A fun afternoon paddling Bowyer's stream at Mt Somers with Paul (pictured), Arthur and Andre. Put-in below Sharplin Falls (or find the track down to the river 200m earlier, opposite the slip, for an easier put-in), then there is about 200m of steep mank before it turns to G3 and G4 eddy hopping for the next 2km. Take-out about 1km after the bridge/carpark. The flow was 14 cumecs on the gauge (actually about 7 here)--it would be much better with twice that.
